As the
hub of air routes and an important port for foreign travelers transfer
to domestic airlines, Songshan Airport has received a great number
of travelers. The operation performance in 2004 was: 8,349,732 passengers
served, flights departing and landing 110,806 times and cargo volume
15,222 tons, wherein, only the passengers served have slightly grown,
either cargo volume or flights departing and landing times have
been continuously declining. |

In the future, influenced
by the completion of Taiwan high speed rail, the airline market
in the western corridor of Taiwan will further shrink; therefore,
to segment the existing market and adjust the management styles
to provide the traveler with the best flight environment and services,
in the future, beside promotion of diversified services, the key
tasks and construction projects of the Airport will include:
"Carrying out the construction of the main drainage system in Songshan Airport","Building new wheelchair ramp and elevator to provide the travelers with a high-quality barrier-free space", "Properly modify the symboling system of the airport building assorting to the adjustment of airlines, facilities and shops to make the guiding services better meet the travelers' requirements", "Establishing nursing station to provide the travelers with emergent medical services", "Planning the west waiting room of 1F as the waiting area for customs clearance for business aviation, shifting all boarding routes to 2F at the east", "Layout of service facilities in the external waiting area at the west on 1F of the building", and "Assisting the airline companies to carry out promotional activities to attract more travelers to travel by air"etc., It will be the focus of future tasks to actively combine with local activities, introduce public arts and other cultural activities and provide related services by integrating with cultural landscape and tourism, hope all colleagues of the airport can make efforts together. |
