Dr. Kuang-shih Yeh, the Minister of Transportation and Communications, inspected the operation condition of the Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA).
Dr. Kuang-shih Yeh, the Minister of Transportation and Communications, inspected facilities of TSA on Nov. 6th. Dr. Yeh led the transportation committee members from the Legislative Yuan to carry out the inspection and explained the present operation condition of TSA.
Since the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TTIA) took over its international flight service in 1979, TSA has become the domestic flight hub of Taiwan. In addition, after the government promoted the cross-strait flight service and golden North-Asia regional flight service in 2008, TSA was even redefined as a capital commercial airport. Since then, the number of its international passengers has been escalating on an annual basis. Having 5.85 million passengers in 2013, and being estimated to have more than 6 million passengers in 2014, TSA is now passenger wise second only to the largest airport, TTIA, in Taiwan.
Very concerned about the operation condition of the international flight service in TSA, Minister Yeh paid a personal visit to the international flight check-in counters in TSA, the E-Gate system of the National Immigration Agency, the duty-free stores, and the EVA Sky Jet Center to know the practical operation procedures, and was deeply impressed by the transformation of TSA. During the inspection tour, Minister Yeh also proposed invaluable advice and encouraged the customer service personnel to better their service towards passengers from all over the world.
